The Broker (Stichting International Development Publications) zoekt een nieuwe voorzitter van haar bestuur. Tevens wil de organisatie het bestuur graag uitbreiden met twee nieuwe algemene bestuursleden. The Broker is de afgelopen jaren geëvolueerd van een tijdschrift tot een dynamisch online Thinknet. Als organisatie positioneren zij zich in het landschap van schuivende mondiale verhoudingen, onzekere tijden in het Nederlandse buitenlandbeleid, en een beleidscontext die dwingt tot het zoeken van nieuwe vormen van financiering.

Professor of Anthropology at Maynooth University – Deadline: 31st of March 2017

We are seeking an academic with an outstanding record to join our staff as Professor of Anthropology. The person appointed will have an excellent record of teaching, research and publication. He/she will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching, research and profile of the University, and to provide ongoing leadership for the discipline.

The Maynooth University Department of Anthropology is home to the only such department in the Republic of Ireland. Since its establishment during the early 1980s, the Department of Anthropology flourished as a distinctive scholarly centre. Today, the Department is composed of eight academic members of staff who have completed ethnographic fieldwork in North America, East Africa, Scandinavia, Melanesia, South Africa, Ireland and continental Europe. The core values of the Department of Anthropology are our respect for diversity, emphasis on pedagogy, collaboration and engagement, and emphasis on research that uses rich theoretical and historically informed knowledge to respond to key questions. The Department of Anthropology offers programmes of study from undergraduate level to a suite of Masters and a structured PhD.

 Bureauredacteur Centrum voor Studie en Documentatie van Latijns Amerika – Deadline: 31 maart 2017

Het Centrum voor Studie en Documentatie van Latijns Amerika, CEDLA, zoekt een enthousiaste en ervaren bureauredacteur voor het open access tijdschrift ERLACS en andere wetenschappelijke publicaties. Hij/zij ondersteunt de redactie, beheert de e-workflow en correspondentie met auteurs en peer reviewers en verzorgt de online publicatie en pr.

Werkzaamheden zijn onder andere:

  • Ondersteuning van de redactie;
  • beheren van de workflow en corresponderen met auteurs en peer reviewers;
  • verzorgen van de online publicatie van artikelen en nummers;
  • verzorgen van de ‘management content’ van de website en het contact met het publicatieplatform;
  • vergroten van de online zichtbaarheid en volgen van trends in wetenschappelijk publiceren.

Lectureship in Medical Anthropology University of Edinburgh – Deadline:  11th of April 2017

The School of Social and Political Science at the University of Edinburgh is seeking outstanding candidates who will further the School’s reputation in Medical Anthropology. You will present a research profile in any theoretical or geographical aspect of medical anthropology, in both experience to date and in future potential, which is at the forefront of the field. You will also demonstrate experience, achievement and outstanding potential reflected in a growing personal teaching and supervisory portfolio. You will also be expected to play a full part in the collegial life of the Subject Group (Social Anthropology) and the School.

This full time, 35 hours, open ended position is available from 1st June 2017.

Associate Professorship(s) in Social Anthropology University of Copenhagen – Deadline: 13th of April 2017

The Department of Anthropology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Copenhagen, invites applications for one or more positions as Associate Professor in Social Anthropology. The position(s) is/are available from August 1st, 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The Department of Anthropology in Copenhagen is one of Europe’s largest anthropological research institutions, with a research and teaching staff of about 30, approximately 600 students at the BA and MA levels and approximately 30 PhD students. In addition to BA and MSc programs in Anthropology, the Department also contributes to two cross-disciplinary MSc programs in Global Development and Global Health.
The Department of Anthropology has a strong international research profile and a vibrant and dynamic research and teaching environment. The new Associate Professor(s) is/are expected to contribute actively to this.
